Color Club - Sky High & Metamorphosis

Hello everyone! It is Friday. . .yay! I've really been loving hanging out on a Friday night, watching movies and chilling in my room! Tonight i'm gonna watch Harry Potter 4 (if you don't know me, i LOVE HP..A lot!) I know that sounds like a sad Friday night for a 20 year old lol :-P I have plenty of time to party!

Today I felt like wearing something shiny and sparkly, so I thought i'd give my two Color Club - Take Wing untried colours a go! I used Metamorphosis, a gorgeous emerald green glass fleck (perhaps a very close dupe of Milani - Key West).. seriously impressive, and Sky High, a beautiful water-like blue glass fleck. . . If you haven't got any of the Take Wing colours. . . you NEED SOME! In the bottle, they show a slight duochrome effect. This doesn't entirely translate onto the nail, unless you catch it at the right angle. Nonetheless, they are gorgeous!
I applied 3 coats on each nail followed by 1 coat of Cult Nails - Wicked Fast, and decided to mix it up and mismatch colours on my nails! Here are some pics :)

Look at those GORGEOUS glass flecks!

See the colour shift?
I hope you like these! Do you own any from the collection? They are a winner for me! Thanks for reading and have a lovely weekend!

Essie - Cute As A Button

Hello lovelies! I can't believe it's Thursday already! I run the Gold Coast half marathon this Sunday...eeep! I haven't been training because I've been sick and the weather has been horrible! I went shopping in Myer today and they have 30% off Essie polishes, and I had a gift card I wanted to use, so i was like SCORE!! Woo-hoo! I was very tempted to buy many colours but restrained myself and bought 1 called Cute As A Button. I was missing a beautiful coral from my collection, so I'm really glad I picked it up. It is a pink-orange coral creme and the formula was really good! I applied 1 coat of Jordana Calcium Boost Basecoat, followed by 2 coats of CAAB, followed by 1 coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I love this colour!

I love wearing bright, fun colours in the middle of winter! It makes me happy when it's raining all day lol :) Thanks for reading!

Artsy Wednesday - Ombre Nails

Hello everyone! Today's Artsy Wednesday is Ombre, so I decided to choose within the blue and green family! The colours I used (from the thumb to the pinkie are as follows):

OPI - Fly
OPI - Jade Is The New Black
OPI - Mermaid's Tears
OPI - I Have A Herring Problem
OPI - What's With The Cattitude

I realised that I didn't have a colour in between Mermaid's Tears and What's With The Cattitude so I Have A Herring Problem was the closest, sorry it looks a bit funny! I applied 1 coat of Jordana's Calcium Boost Basecoat followed by 2 coats of each colour, then followed by Jordana's Fast Dry Top coat, which pulls the polish if it isn't completely dry, but does dry in a very quick time!

Here are the photos :)

Don't forget to check out the other lovely ladies who have participated in today's Artsy Wednesday theme!

Michelle - Lab Muffin
Holly - Hooked!
Catrine - Unnaked Nails
Jessica - Beauty Gnome

Jordana Collection Review

Hey guys! Today I have for you some nail polishes from the brand Jordana. They originate from the US, but they have thankfully been brought to Australia and are available for purchase on their website (jordanacosmetics.com.au). I was given the opportunity to pick some colours and I chose some real stunners! Just so I don't repeat myself I will let you know that I used 1 coat of Calcium Boost Basecoat, followed by 2 coats of lacquer. The formula on Jordana polishes are really good! I was surprised how easily and smooth they went on, a bit sheer on 1 coat, but 2 coats easily fixed that up. The brush is a little thin, but picks up the polish easily and makes application smooth. Here are the colours I chose:

Green Glitz is a stunning grass green shimmer with a mixture of holographic bars and small glitters. I really like this colour and it suits olive skin tone really nicely!

Coral Spark is an amazinggg orangey-red coral with some seriously gorgeous shimmer in it. This, like Green Glitz, also has a mixture of holographic bar and glitters scattered through out. This is my favourite from the collection!

Purple Glam is really pretty. I am told that this is one of Jordana's biggest selling colours and I can see why! The base is a gorgeous deep magenta filled with purple shimmer, and this one also has a dense mixture of holographic bar and glitters...yes! Winner!

Blurred to show the amazing holographic micro glitter!
Crystal Glitter, shown here with OPI's - Black Onyx as the base, is a pixie dust looking polish, a sheer white base with a whole lot of holographic glitters! It is pretty much like a flakie! This is super gorgeous and definitely made my black nails pop! I love that the light catches all the different colours and you see an array of rainbow colours on your nails! Pure magic!
I also received some nail art stripers which I will be using very soon, so stay tuned!

What do you think of these colours? Which one is your favourite?

Milani - Key West and a New Watermark!

Hey everybody! My last two exams are looming and I am getting a bit nervous....eeeek! Today I have for you a colour that I have been lemming ever since I saw swatches of this on Let Them Have Polish. The lovely Jasmine from Colour Coated did an amazing swap with me and got me this lovely along with some other super gorgeous colours!! Milani Key West is a deep teal foil that illuminates! The brush on Milani is quite good, I had forgotten what it was like, and the formula was good, it needed 2 coats for full opacity. I topped it off with 1 coat of Orly's Sec-N-Dry.

I've been playing around with some new watermarks today and I finally found a design I like so voila! My watermark :-) Have a great evening/day everyone!

This colour isn't what i was expecting! this is the most truest colour in photos as on my nails! I still like it, but it isn't exactly the same as over at Let Them Have Polish.

Nonetheless, it is a gorgeous colour! Thanks for reading

Essie - Mojito Madness

Hi everyone how are you on this Sunday night? Today I have for you Essie's Mojito Madness, from the Summer 2012 Collection. It is a very vivid grass green creme and is opaque in 1 coat, but I used 2 coats here to remove any unevenness. The formula wasn't the best, a bit on the thick side, which I find very hard to apply on my thumbs especially! I really love this colour though and is perfect for summer! (I wish it was Summer here!) Here are some pics :)

This is a beauty! What do you think of this colour? Did it make the cut for you when deciding which colour from the collection you liked best? Thanks for reading!
